On the radio...
Fame!
BBC Radio Shropshire visited Wyldwoods recently and carried out a number of on-the-spot interviews with participants and staff.
Here's a video clip of one of the interviews.
Plea for help!
After all the snow and ice the track to Wyldwoods is in great need of improvements. The vehicles, which bring our beneficiaries and participants are struggling with the pot holes which have increased in size.
The older mini bus which brings our adult learners from Innage Lane Day Centre in Bridgnorth has particular difficulty.
If anyone has any contacts with suppliers of stone or knows about track laying we would be delighted to hear from you. We have plenty of volunteers who would be more than willing to provide the labour.
Could be a great PR opportunity!
Seasonal workshops for local children
Wyldwoods has received a grant from Barrow and Broseley Joint Committee to provide seasonal workshops to the children of John Wilkinson Primary school.
Pupils attended in February 2010 and will revisit during Spring and Summer.

Workshops insulated
Wyldwoods' workshops have now been insulated for the improved comfort of all who come, especially during the winter months. Thanks to an Advantage West Midlands Nexus Grant.
We would like to thank BTCV and Chris Hark for their generosity as volunteers to aid this project.
Taster sessions funded
We have also received a grant from Grassroots Shropshire towards part of a pilot project to provide a series of taster sessions for people with experience of mental Health issues.
The tutors have been interviewed and engaged and are all ready and waiting for the participants when the 7 week project commences on 8th February. Rachel and Sam Yarrington have a wealth of skills and experience to share and are enthusiastic and full of great ideas for this rare opportunity for people to take part in the Wyldwoods experience for free. The evidence collected and the feedback from participants will assist Wyldwoods in making a case for the value of creative arts for well-being for demonstrating to Primary Care Trusts, Social Services, GP’s and Community Mental Health Teams etc for future procurement and joint commissioning.
Hello and Goodbye...
We are very sad to lose a very valuable member of the Wyldwoods team. Anne Marie Lagram is moving to pastures new. We are immensely grateful for all she has done to help Wyldwoods on its way in the early days. Anne Marie is handing over to the very capable and talented Jaki Parker. There will be more from Jaki to come so watch this space…
We are also sorry to say Au Revoir (but we hope not 'goodbye') to some of our volunteers. Paul Godson and family- we hope they’ll be back when life slows down again, Emma Bailey who has just had a baby! Wow! And Jackie Coyle who has decided to concentrate on her own craft business at Maws. All have been brilliant and we are grateful for all they have given so generously.
Volunteers
We now have an opportunity to welcome some new volunteers. Si Toth helps out 3 part days a week and is proving invaluable to us... don’t know how we’d manage without him. Steve Rush joins Si once a week and is fabulous... and Paul Jennings helps us twice a month with a whole host of practical stuff... not forgetting Mary Sambrook, who does our books and of course all of the trustees.
New volunteers are hoping to join us in the next few weeks include Sarah Johnston who will take responsibility for our animals and Pete Shearer who will work at the hazel and willow site, which we have the privilege to manage for Penny Parr (Willow artist extrordinaire). Hunter Evans is going to help out and learn some practical skills into the bargain. A useful way to use his time until going back to college.
For more volunteering opportunities please contact us. We can’t promise we have anything at present but will certainly keep your details on file.

Volunteers needed! We will need all the help we can get on the day of our annual charity fundraiser... car parking, manning the gates, serving refreshments, making cakes, selling raffle tickets, erecting and dismantling marquees, distribution of posters and publicity and much more.

Thanks to Rod at Abbey Nursery!
A big 'thanks' to Rod at Abbey Nursery, Much Wenlock, who one again generously donated a selection of plants for a raised bed project with one of our beneficiaries. Rod, you're a star.
